The Persons with Disabilities Affairs Office (PDAO), headed by Ms. Abihaille S. Esquillo, successfully conducted the 2nd Quarter Meeting of Barangay PWD Presidents and officers, bringing together PWD leaders to discuss concerns, accomplishments, and future plans for the disability sector. As part of the activity, a Planning and Budgeting Workshop for Calendar Year 2027 was facilitated by the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), headed by Mrs. Jessica F. Madrilejos, together with MPDO staff Ms. Rossana Maristela and Ms. Coleen Natural. The workshop provided Barangay PWD leaders with the opportunity to identify priority programs, projects, and activities and actively participate in the formulation of budget proposals that will address the needs of the PWD community. The activity was also graced by our Municipal Mayor, who delivered an inspiring message reaffirming the commitment of the Local Government Unit of Milagros to inclusive governance. The Mayor emphasized the importance of ensuring that persons with disabilities are represented in local planning and decision-making processes, assuring them that their voices are heard, their concerns are valued, and their contributions are recognized. This initiative reflects the Municipality of Milagros’ continuing commitment to empowering the PWD community through meaningful participation in governance and development planning. By involving them in the budgeting process, the LGU ensures that programs and services are responsive to their needs and aspirations.
