Orientation and Capacity Building on the Protection of Women and Children, VAW Desk Officer, SGBV Referral Mechanism, and BCPC/LCPC Functionality last September 16, 2026

-To strengthen the competencies of the service prviders in responding to the reported cases related to women and children.

-Enhance the knowledge of the VAW Desk Officers, Child Development Workers, and Barangay Kagawad Committee Chairperson on Women and Children

-Improve the referral pathways of these women and child-related abuses reported in the barangay and provide proper action and services for the victim-survivors.

Atty. Kim Kenneth L. Ala, RSW tackled about the R.A 11930 known as the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Materials (CSAEM) Act and R.A 11862 the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022

Mary Ann L. Mejillano, RSW discussed about R.A 11596 the act of Prohibiting the Practice of Child Marriage

Princess L. Dalanon, RSW, the Solo Parent Focal Person of LGU-Milagros tackled about the R.A 11861 the expanded solo parents and welfare act.

Participants are also given IEC Materials related to the updated laws on women and children.

The implementing unit is also thankful to the support given by Municipal Mayor, Honorable Natividad Isabel R. Magbalon as pro-active and an advocate of the activities in protecting women and children.
