LOOK: On January 29, 2026, at the Municipal Conference Hall, Milagros, Masbate, the Local Government Unit of Milagros conducted the presentation of the Inland Wetland Assessment results of Luacan Waterpark located in Paraiso, Milagros, Masbate. The activity was attended by municipal officials of LGU Milagros, including Sangguniang Bayan Hon. Jose Johnson A. Victoria, Chairperson of the Committee on Food and Agriculture, together with Mr. Ramir Obnias, Municipal Agriculturist; Ms. Jessica F. Madrilejos, Municipal Planning and Development Officer; and Ms. Carmen B. Cortes, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer. Municipal Mayor Hon. Natividad Isabel R. Magbalon, M.D., was also present and expressed her support for strengthening wetland conservation efforts and integrating assessment results into local development planning.
Barangay officials were likewise present during the program, led by Ms. Teresa B. Labastida of Barangay Narangasan, Milagros. The presentation emphasized the ecological significance of Luacan Waterpark, discussed key assessment findings, identified existing and potential threats, and outlined recommended management and conservation measures to ensure the protection and sustainability of inland wetlands. The activity was spearheaded by the DENR–CENRO Mobo headed by Ms. Jean B. Imperial, DENR CENR Officer, with Falcon Cesar C. Villanueva, RPF, SVEMS Chief, CDS; Ms. Rebecca Martha D. Almocera, Forest Technician IV and Wetlands Focal Person; and Mr. Aldrin R. Gases of DENR–CENRO Mobo, Masbate, highlighting strong inter-agency collaboration for environmental protection and climate resilience.
